About COC

Commerce is not
a subject to clear.
It is a discipline
to master.

Concepts of Commerce was founded on a simple conviction: the gap between what students are taught in classrooms and what they actually need to understand is not inevitable. With the right instruction, it closes.

We run structured sessions, applied concept discussions and rigorous exam preparation that go beyond the textbook. Students leave with the vocabulary, the analytical instincts and the confidence that define serious commerce thinkers.

Commerce understood at the concept level changes how students think — not just how they score.

— COC Founding Principle

Our Foundation

  • Our Mission

To give every commerce student — regardless of school or coaching access — the kind of clear, expert instruction that was previously available only to a few.

  • Our Vision

A generation of students who approach commerce not as a set of rules to memorise, but as a framework for understanding how businesses, economies, and markets actually work.

  • Why COC Exists

Because memorisation is not learning. Because textbooks are necessary but not sufficient. Because commerce, taught well, is one of the most powerful ways to develop rigorous, analytical thinking.

COC is led by AC Gupta — an educator committed to making expert commerce instruction accessible to every student.

The COC Standard

Not just another
coaching centre.

A standard of instruction.

Every session at COC is designed around one question: does this student understand — or have they only memorised? The difference is everything.

Conceptual Depth

Every topic from first principles — not from the back of the book.

Applied Rigour

Real numbers, real cases, real business logic — not abstract theory.

Examination Clarity

Board preparation built on understanding — not on template repetition.

What We Teach

Many Areas,
One Standard.

Each subject taught as a discipline worth understanding — not a paper worth clearing. Every concept explained until it is inevitable, not just recognisable.

Accountancy

From journal entries to financial statements, ratio analysis to cash flow — built on the fundamentals that make every concept feel inevitable rather than arbitrary.

Economics

Micro and macro, taught with genuine rigour. Demand, supply, market structures, GDP, inflation, and monetary policy — understood, not memorised.

Class XI

Build the foundation correctly. Every commerce concept introduced from first principles — with the conceptual depth that determines everything that follows.

Board preparation that goes beyond memorisation and templates. Score high because you understand deeply — that kind of confidence cannot be faked in an examination.

Common questions

Things parents ask

Which classes and subjects do you teach?
Class XI and XII commerce — Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies. We also prepare students for CUET and for AP examinations.
Which boards do you teach?
CBSE and ISC, for Class XI and XII.
What are your fees?
We treat this as the last question rather than the first. Fees follow the class, the subject and the batch — but no fee makes the wrong teaching work, and the right teaching is rarely chosen on price alone. Sit through a class, see whether it suits your child, and the number is a short conversation after that.
How large are the batches?
Moderate. Small enough that every student gets personal attention, and large enough that there is a real competitive environment to measure themselves against. Both matter — one without the other does not work.
Can we attend a class before deciding?
Yes. Sitting through a class answers more than any conversation can, and we would rather a student joined knowing what the teaching is actually like.
Can a student join part-way through the year?
In certain cases, yes. It depends on where the class has reached and on the student — we would want to meet them first and understand how much ground they are prepared to make up.
Where are your centres?
One, in Gurugram: Palm Grove Heights, Ardee City, and Mentor Teaches at Qutub Plaza, DLF-1 as well.
How do I enrol or arrange to talk to you?
Call 88-60-61-88-42 or 99711-50771, or fill in the enquiry form on this page. Tell us the student's class, the subject and what needs work, and we will reply with the batch and centre that fit.
